Britam and Hindsight Ventures presents Britam Betalab Regional Challenge 2025, a 4-Weeks Venture Development Bootcamp covering 3 East African nations where Britam has operations - Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda to identify hi-tech, high potential startups and founders building innovative solutions fitting within the insurance value-chain.
Britam Betalab through this challenge is looking to identify hi-tech, high potential startups and founders building innovative solutions fitting within the insurance value-chain across the following industries
15 high-potential (5 from each of the 3 countries) will be selected for a 4-week venture mentorship and leadership development bootcamp, that will be delivered by successful founders, industry leaders, domain experts and investors from Britam Leadership and Hindsight Ventures global network. The Venture Bootcamp will help establish / reiterate basic venture development processes, enable industry connections, international networks, peer community and more.
Following the Venture Bootcamp Demo Day, a cohort of 5 startups from across the 3 countries will be selected for a 60-day Accelerator Program that will see startups further their business growth, and aim to secure a PoC / pilot opportunity with Britam.
During the course of the accelerator each selected startup will get access to $500,000 worth of technology credits from partners such as Zoho, Microsoft, Canva, DigitalOcean, FreshWorks and more that will help them build fast.
The Venture Bootcamp will culminate with a virtual Demo Day, wherein the cohort will pitch to an audience comprising internal stakeholders from Britam HQ and regional offices.
We are looking for startups across Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda using technology (Software / Hardware / Software+Hardware), and solve for the above listed focus areas. It is mandatory that applicants should have a registered entity in any of these 3 countries and be operational for a minimum 24 months.
